BELLINGHAM 6, SEDRO-WOOLLEY 1

The Bellingham girls' tennis team defeated Sedro-Woolley 6-1 in a non-league matchup Thursday, March 20, at Bellingham.

Between Kara Burns, Mariah Miller and Ruby Parker, they only lost one game in straight-set victories. The doubles pairings of Catie Welch and Ellie Iwersen, Keri Brauner and Tess Own, and Ashley Spink and Olivia Bjorklund all won in straight sets, as well.

"I thought we played well pretty much through the lineup," Bellingham coach Steve Chronister said in a phone interview. "Kara Burns had an especially good day. She was hitting the ball clean, moving it where she wanted to go."

The Red Raiders next face South Whidbey at Noon on March 22.
