Ferndale pours on 15 hits, tops Lynden



Lauren Maley held Lynden to six hits and struck out seven Lions to lead Ferndale's softball team to a 13-3 win on Thursday, March 20, at Lynden.

Abby Bauthues led the Golden Eagles hit parade, going 3 for 3 with three runs scored as her team racked up 15 hits.

"They just flat out beat us in every phase of the game," Lynden coach Steve Peterson said in a phone interview.

Mandy Warner was a bright spot for the Lions, going 2 for 4 at the plate with two RBI and a home run.

Ferndale's Dana Ebe was 2 for 4 with a run and an RBI, and Sydney Shawler was 2 for 3 with two runs.

Lynden takes on Sehome at noon on Saturday, March 22, at Daniels Field in Anacortes. Ferndale plays Sedro-Woolley at 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 24, at Janicki Fields.
