Trojans' offense explodes in win over Squalicum

Meridian's softball team rebounded after a season-opening loss, defeating Squalicum 25-3 in three innings Tuesday, March 18, at Squalicum.

The Trojans scored nine runs in the first, 12 runs in the second and four runs in the third to pick up the win.

Meridian's Eve Castro went 2 for 2 with four runs and Keana Waugh went 3 for 4.

Squalicum scored two runs in the first and a run in the second. Audrey Carlson had a hit, a walk and two runs, while Amanda Chandler scored the other run.

The Trojans play their third game in three days on Wednesday, March 19, against Coupeville. Squalicum faces Blaine on Friday, March 21, at home.
