Baker's Wilson hits 72 as Lynden tops six teams at North Bellingham



Lynden's boys' golf team won with a team score of 427 on Tuesday, March 18, at North Bellingham Golf Course.

The Lions were just ahead of Mount Baker, which had a 437. The Mountaineers also had the individual winner - Kenny Wilson, who shot an even-par 72.

"It was a great round by (Wilson), it was exceptional for the early part of the season," Lynden coach Russ Dorr said in a phone interview. "This is the youngest team I've had and it felt good to get the win."

Blaine's Devan Boucher was right on Wilson's heels, hitting a 77 for the day. Lynden was led by third-place finisher Ezra Arneson's 83.

The other teams competing were Sehome (452), Squalicum (462), Meridian (496), Anacortes (520), Blaine (571).
