Lyden's Ming wins individual, Sedro-Woolley wins team honors


Sedro-Woolley's girls' golf team topped four other teams with a score of 287 on Monday, March 17, at Raspberry Ridge Golf Course.

The Cubs had two golfers - Casidy Brown and Kelsey Johnson - record scores of 47 to win the event.

The only other golfer to shoot in the 40s was Lynden's Emily Ming, who won medalist honors by shooting a 40, seven strokes better than the next closest golfer.

Meridian took second with a 343. The Trojans had four golfers shoot in the 60s - Anna Ratzlaff (65), Haley Sandberg (68), Estee Scheffer (69) and Miranda Nunamaker (69).

Lynden took third with a score of 366, Shome took fourth at 385 and Blaine took fifth with a 423.

The rest of the Northwest Conference plays on Tuesday, March 18, at Raspberry Ridge Golf Course. The teams will include Anacortes, Bellingham, Burlington-Edison, Ferndale, Mount Baker and Squalicum.
