Bob Sherwin and Jeanne Sherwin

March 16, 2014

Bob and Jeanne Sherwin decided to elope, found out there was no 3 day wait in Arkansas (they were on a date in St. Louis), and headed south ending up at Pocahontas, Arkansas on March 5, 1949 at 9 p.m. After the county clerk finished listening to a B-ball game, he led us to his house across the street from the Methodist minister. The porch light blinked, we entered, the minister was in suit and tie and his wife was the witness. We were married about 10 p.m. We have traveled the world on 49 cruises. We have five wonderful children, 11 grandchildren and have our 11th great-grandchild arriving next month. We love each other dearly and hope to have many more anniversaries though time is passing too quickly. For our 50th we cruised around South America. For this 65th, we're enjoying each other at a wonderful dinner in Bellingham.
