COAST GUARD BOATING COURSE SATURDAY IN CALDWELL

A free course on the Basics of Safe Boating on Idaho waters will be 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 15, at the Mobile Estates Community Center, 2205 E. Linden St., in Caldwell. Topics include: boating law, safe boating, navigation, boating problems with particulars in trailering, storing and protecting a boat; jet skis, water skiing and river boating.

F&G COMMISSION TO SET 2014 BIG GAME SEASONS

The commission will meet March 19 and 20 in Boise with a public hearing at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at the Washington Group Plaza at 720 East Park Blvd.

On March 20, the meeting will be held at Fish and Game's Headquarters office at 600 S. Walnut St. Agenda items include a legislative update; season setting for deer, elk, pronghorn, bear, mountain lion and wolves; briefing on rules for game animals; and season setting for spring chinook salmon. RATTLESNAKE AVOIDANCE DOG TRAINING SET JUNE 14

Registration is being taken for the training appointments from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Julia Davis Park in Boise. Space is limited and this clinic often sells out, so early registration is recommended.
