THE BELLINGHAM HERALDMarch 11, 2014

People can celebrate all things Irish on Saturday, March 15, starting with the Runnin' O' the Green 5K walk/run and 5-mile run at 10 a.m. at Boundary Bay Brewery, 1107 Railroad Ave. Runners will hope to finish in time to refresh and enjoy the Bellingham St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Registration on race day is $35; kids run for free. Details: 360-778-7000 and cob.org (search Runnin' O the Green).

The fifth annual St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at noon in the parking lot at Cornwall Avenue and Ohio Street, then goes south on Cornwall, turns left at Chestnut Street and right onto Railroad Avenue past Depot Market Square, then right at East Maple Street and ending at the parking lot at East Maple and Cornwall.

If your parade entry is not a band or float, then no application is needed; just show up at the staging area from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. to get in line. If the weather is foul, it's OK to show up at 11:30.

Bands and groups with floats should use the online registration form at stpatsbham.com.
