Huey Lewis, Gary Allan to perform at this year's Northwest Washington Fair


LYNDEN - Country singer Gary Allan and '80s rock band Huey Lewis & the News will be performing at the Northwest Washington Fair this summer.

Grandstand tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 13, and will be available online at, over the phone at 877-699-FAIR or at the fair office, 1775 Front St. in Lynden.

The fair will run Aug. 11-15 at the Northwest Washington Fair and Event Center. Allan will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, and Huey Lewis & the News will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

The fair's grandstand entertainment will start with the demolition derby Monday, followed by two days of cowboys competing in the Lynden PRCA Rodeo. Saturday night's grandstand act has not been announced yet.

Tickets for Allan or Huey Lewis cost $52 for reserved seating and $62 for preferred seating. Ticket prices include admission to the fair.

Allan, whose hits include "Man to Man" and "Watching Airplanes," has had five No. 1 singles and seven gold albums. Huey Lewis & the News has sold more than 20 million albums since forming in 1979, with songs such as "The Power of Love" and "Heart of Rock & Roll" topping the charts.
