The Wings Over Water Birding Festival, takes place Friday through Sunday, March 14-16, 2014 in Blaine, Semiahmoo Spit, Birch Bay and Drayton Harbor, celebrating the incredible variety of migratory birds that flock to this pristine coastal area.

The Wings Over Water Birding Festival, taking place Friday through Sunday, March 14-16, in Blaine, Semiahmoo Spit, Birch Bay and Drayton Harbor, celebrates the incredible variety of migratory birds that flock to this pristine coastal area.

The daylong birding expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, includes live raptor presentations by Sardis Raptor Center, wildlife exhibits, craft vendors, and kids' activities (including build-your-own birdhouse), and bird viewing stations.

For $5, visitors can enjoy a guided field trip to explore Semiahmoo Spit to learn about birds as well as the geology of the area, or take a wildlife cruise around Drayton Harbor on the historic Plover Ferry.
