Man threatens to shoot Bellingham property manager

BELLINGHAM - A man was arrested after police say he threatened to shoot the manager of Daylight Properties just after 1 p.m. Monday, March 3, on North State Street.

Daylight Properties manager Kane Hall, 37, said a man came into his sixth-floor office in the Herald Building and started causing trouble, swearing and yelling. Hall said he had never before seen the man, who claimed to be a renter on the fourth floor, which other tenants denied.

When the man wouldn't leave, Hall called police. The man then tried to grab the phone away from Hall and threatened to shoot him.

The man fled down the elevator. Hall saw him run into the Belle Flora flower shop across the street. Police found him there but didn't find a weapon.

Joshua Jeffrey Bremner, 24, was booked into Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of felony harassment, according to jail bookings.

Bremner has prior convictions for taking a motor vehicle without permission, second-degree theft, possession of stolen property and malicious mischief, according to court documents. He was arrested Feb. 22 on suspicion of third-degree theft.
