Blazers sweep Outlaws

The Bellingham Blazers completed their sweep of the Tri-Cities Outlaws with a 6-0 win on Friday, Feb. 28, in Kennewick.

The Blazers will advance to the Cascade Cup championship, where they will face No. 2-seed West Sound Warriors. The Warriors swept the Eugene Generals in their first-round series.

Boris Knyazev scored first for the Blazers, followed by Mason Wade to give the Blazers a 2-0 lead. Jack Speer scored a penalty shot to make it 3-0 after the first.

Micky Turner's powerplay goal extended the lead to three in the second. Gerin Hohl and Bailey Shaver added goals in the last period to secure the win. Blazers goaltender Joshua Stone saved nine shots in the shutout.

The Blazers begin the championship series on Tuesday, March 4, at the Bellingham Sportsplex.
