BELLINGHAM - A car crashed into the south entrance of the U.S. post office on Prospect Street at about 11 a.m. Feb. 28, according to several witness reports.

As of 3 p.m., the post office was open and serving people through the north entrance.

The impact dislodged several exterior bricks, broke glass and warped the door frame, but it did not appear to substantially damage the building. It was being inspected and assessed for damage.

Details on how the crash happened were not available Friday afternoon from Bellingham police.
