Pickford Film Center names new executive director

BELLINGHAM - After nearly two months of searching, the Pickford Film Center has a new executive director.

The nonprofit cinema has appointed Susie Purves to the job, according to an announcement Monday, Feb. 24.

Purves hails from Seattle, where she worked as managing director of the film arts organization Northwest Film Forum before serving as the executive director of Spectrum Dance Theater.

The search for a new director began after the previous executive director, Alice Clark, announced her resignation near the end of 2013 after 12 years at the helm.
