BELLINGHAM - The city has added a new sculpture to the Big Rock Garden Park outdoor sculpture collection.

The sculpture, titled "Unity" was installed in the park on Feb. 14. It was created by Russ Beardsley and Cameron Scott in 2007 and sold at an art show to Karen Duddlesten, wife of the late businessman Wayne Duddlesten.

Karen Duddlesten donated the sculpture in honor of her husband.

Beardsley said the title refers to the relationship among people and between people and nature. He said the design was inspired by the friendship between him and Scott.
