Women in Agriculture conference March 15 in Whatcom County

A conference put on by Washington State University's College of Agriculture will provide information for women farmers to better their management skills.

As part of the Women in Agriculture program at WSU, the conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Bellewood Acres at 6140 Guide Meridian. The conference will be put on at 28 different locations throughout Washington, Idaho and Oregon.

Following keynote speaker Heather Darby, who has managed her family's 200-year-old farm for 11 years, individual locations will feature local women producers who will share their experiences with change.

Women of all experience levels are welcome, from beginning farmers to seasoned veterans.

Register for the conference at womeninag.wsu.edu. Registration for the conference is $25 if received by March 1, or $30 after.
