Blazers' Rich, Hansen awarded

Cody Rich and Scott Hansen of the Bellingham Blazers were named the Most Valuable Players at their respective positions.

Rich was named the Northern Pacific Hockey League's top forward with 46 goals and 49 assists. Hansen was named the top defenseman with 14 goals and 33 assists. The duo helped lead the Blazers to a NPHL-leading 35-5 record this season.

The Blazers start playoff competition on Tuesday Feb. 25, at the Bellingham Sportsplex against the Tri-Cities Outlaws. The two teams will square off in a best-of-five series, with Bellingham hosting a game on Wednesday, Feb. 26, and on Sunday, March 2, if necessary.
