Horns & Hooks expo showcases best of Grays Harbor

Staff reportFebruary 23, 2014

The annual Horns & Hooks Grays Harbor Sportsman Show will open for a two-day run March 8-9 at the Grays Harbor Fairgrounds. The show will feature a chance to learn about the outdoor opportunities in the area and meet TV personalities.

“The focus will be very similar to past spring outdoor expos but with an emphasis on hunting and fishing in the region,” said fair and events supervisor Rod Easton.

Vendors and exhibitors will showcase the outdoor experiences, products and destinations that make Grays Harbor County a popular escape for outdoorsmen.

“Along with hunting and fishing guides, and lodging providers, a wide range of vendors and exhibitors will participate in the annual event,” said Mike Bruner, director of Grays Harbor Fairgrounds and Tourism. “This is a perfect opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to learn what is available here.”

“Residents of the South Sound … will be surprised to find what they can explore and enjoy in their own backyard. Grays Harbor is home to some of the best hunting, fishing, clam digging, camping and hiking on the West Coast,” Bruner added.

In addition to vendors, there will be live demonstrations, outdoor products for sale and activity promotions.

There also will be a free kids’ trout pond, a 3-D target archery competition and a cowboy fast-draw competition.

Also scheduled to appear are cast members from the History Channel series “Ax-Men,” Latt Durance from Outdoor TV’s “Best of the West” series and Ultimate Fight Championship’s Tim Sylvia.
