BIRDING: Audubon group to visit Tumwater Park

February 23, 2014

The Black Hills Audubon Society’s First Saturday Birding and Breakfast field trip will visit the Tumwater Historical Park area Saturday.

The event, for which there is no expert guide, is open to birders of all skill levels. Participants are asked to share what they know about local birding opportunities, while connecting with other South Sound birders.

Participants should meet at Tumwater Historical Park, 777 Simmons Lane SW, at 7:30 a.m. To get there, go north from Falls Terrace Restaurant on Deschutes Parkway for about 0.2 miles and take the unmarked road between Henderson House Museum and Crosby Road, down to the Deschutes River.

Breakfast will be at 9 a.m. at Rivers Edge Restaurant at the Tumwater Golf Course, 4611 Tumwater Valley Drive SE, Tumwater.
