A man who was already in Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of theft and burglary charges was arrested Thursday, Feb. 20, in connection with multiple burglaries in Ferndale and the north county, according to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office.
Ferndale resident Kevin Gorsuch, 27, was previously arrested in connection with a burglary on Harksell Road and wire theft on East Pole Road in December.
In the process of investigating those crimes, deputies were able to link Gorsuch to other burglaries and thefts that occurred in the north county in late 2013 and early 2014, according to the sheriff's office.
Gorsuch allegedly admitted to taking welding equipment from an unlocked shop in the 6800 block of Enterprise Road; opening a window to a business in the 6900 block of Salashan Parkway; stealing a chainsaw from a shed in the 7400 block of Enterprise Road; cutting an electrical cord from a residence in the 7400 block of Enterprise Road and stripping it for copper; and possessing and trafficking two stolen firearms.
Gorsuch denied stealing the guns from a residence in the 5400 block of Aldrich Road, but an accomplice reported dropping him off at that location and later picking him up with guns.
Gorsuch also was identified by a witness in a burglary of power tools from a business in the 5000 block of Pacific Highway, according to the sheriff's office.
Gorsuch was sentenced to six months for felony theft in April 2013 and has an extensive history of run-ins with the law.
