Submission time near for Sue C. Boynton Poetry Contest

Whatcom County residents have the month of March to submit a poem to the 2014 Sue C. Boynton Poetry Contest. The free contest is open to all county residents regardless of age or experience.

Winners can read their poem at an awards ceremony May 15. Winning poems will be published in a chapbook collection and will be displayed at the Sue C. Boynton Poetry Walk outside Bellingham Public Library. They also might appear inside Whatcom Transportation Authority buses.

Contestants may submit only one previously unpublished poem. Rules, including length of poem and manner of submission, are at boyntonpoetrycontest.wordpress.com.

Poems can be submitted from March 1 until 4 p.m. March 31. Winners will be notified beginning April 18. Questions should be emailed to BoyntonPoetryContest@hotmail.com.
