More items sought for Ferndale library time capsule

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDFebruary 18, 2014

FERNDALE - Friends of the Ferndale Library is seeking additional items for a time capsule in the new library, which is under construction.

More than 24 items have been donated so far. People have until April 25 to submit new ones.

"We're hoping people will give some thought to what future residents of Ferndale might find interesting when they open the time capsule in 25, 30, maybe 50 years," Wendy McLeod, outreach director of the Friends, said in a news release.

Possible items could include artwork, written stories about present-day or future Ferndale, photos, commemorative items, or everyday items tomorrow's residents might find interesting.

Items shouldn't be larger than 3 inches thick by 12 inches wide by 12 inches tall.

Drop off items at the temporary Ferndale Public Library, 2007 Cherry St., during regular business hours.

Items must be submitted by 6 p.m. April 25, and a submittal form must accompany each item. Find those forms at the temporary library.

A list of already donated items is on the Friends of the Ferndale Library's page on Facebook.
