WCC women fall to Bellevue

Whatcom Community College's women's basketball team couldn't take over first place in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges north region, as the Orcas fell to Bellevue 72-61 on Saturday, Feb. 15, at WCC.

The Orcas and Bulldogs were tied for the lead in the north region entering the contest, but the Bulldogs hit 13 3-pointers and cruised to victory.

WCC was led by Kortney Grattic's 23 points and 14 rebounds, but it wasn't enough. The Orcas got to the line 25 times and connected on 21 of them.

WCC is now 10-2 in the north with two games to play. The Orcas have already clinched a spot in the NWAACC tournament.
