Human Rights Film Festival starts Feb. 20

The annual Bellingham Human Rights Film Festival kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Pickford Film Center, 1318 Bay St., with an auction from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and a reception between the 6:30 and 9:30 shows.

The festival - which runs through March 1 at numerous venues, including Fairhaven College Auditorium, public high schools, Whatcom Community College, Bellingham Technical College, Northwest Indian College and at Pickford - supports independent filmmakers and social action.

Many films are followed by facilitated discussion, some led by the filmmakers. There's no admission charge. Details: bhrff.webs.com and Bellingham Human Rights Film Festival on Facebook.
