Feel the Ocean Commotion

Families and friends can get a hands-on experience this weekend at the Ocean Commotion event at Tacoma’s Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. Visitors will be able to try out the touch tanks as well as other activities included with the admission price.


If you are looking for something to do with the kids for the Presidents Day weekend, Ocean Commotion at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is an option. Visitors will have the chance to learn about ocean creatures and their habitats through interactive games.

The event will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday through Monday at the Tacoma zoo.

Activities include watershed experiments, seeing how food for marine mammals is prepared, a keeper’s talk, a service project and touch tanks in the Marine Discovery Center and Stingray Cove.

Activities are free with paid admission or membership. General admission tickets are $8.75-$15. For more information, including a schedule of events, go to metroparkstacoma.org.
