What's closed Monday for Presidents Day

Government offices and schools will be closed Monday, Feb. 17, in observance of Presidents Day. Grocery stores, Bellis Fair mall, most retail stores and restaurants will be open.

Here is the status of some offices and services Monday:

Whatcom County and city of Bellingham offices: Closed.

Bellingham parking meters: Not enforced.

Whatcom County Library and bookmobile: Closed.

Bellingham Public Library: Closed.

Banks: Most are closed.

Postal Service: No mail delivery.

Garbage service: SSC and Nooksack Valley Disposal have regular pickup schedule, but trucks may be earlier than normal so put out trash the night before.

Western Washington University, Whatcom Community College, Bellingham Technical College, Northwest Indian College: Closed.

Whatcom Transportation Authority: Buses operating on regular schedule.

Movie theaters: Open.

The Bellingham Herald: Offices closed; regular newspaper delivery. For missed papers, call 360-676-2660 between 6:30 and 9 a.m.

Boys & Girls Clubs: Closed. (Also closed on Friday, Feb. 14.)

Opportunity Council: Closed.
