Northwest Indian College student eliminated from 'American Idol'

Northwest Indian College student Aranesa Turner has been eliminated from season 13 of TV's singing competition "American Idol."

Turner, 20, announced on Twitter Wednesday night, Feb. 12, that she had been cut - before a single performance of hers aired on the show.

When she earned her "golden ticket" to Hollywood, surviving the audition phase, "Idol" aired only a short video of her.

Just by making the show, she'd been a social media hit among Indian country. She's part of the Pomo Indian Tribe and hoped to share her diverse background (American Indian and African American) and her deep Christian faith with the audience.

Her tweets remained positive even after the announcement: "The end of my #idoljourney is only the beginning of the amazing journey God has destined since the beginning of time."
