Canadian exporters not getting much help from weaker loonie

Here's a (link) to an interesting article in the Canadian publication Financial Post about how the weaker loonie is not yet helping Canadian exporters.

Other global factors appear to be at play, including a weaker Asian market and that U.S. manufacturing appears to be rebounding more than Canada's manufacturing sector.

Whatcom County's manufacturing sector has been adding jobs in recent years, hitting a seven-year high in September with about 9,700 people employed in the industry. If that continues to grow, it might help balance out the expected drop in retail if the Canadian dollar continues to weaken.
