Baltimore's Ballyhoo is performing at the Wild Buffalo, 208 W. Holly St. on Sunday, Feb. 9. The band's music embodies the party lifestyle with a blend of rock, pop, reggae and punk. Its unique sound is reminiscent of the band Sublime.

The feel-good band has created a niche with its unique sound in the rock-reggae music scene. Its music has appeared in numerous boardsports videos and compilation albums, including "Forever Free: A Tribute to Sublime."

The band features lead singer and guitarist Howi Spangler who has a mix of quick lyrics along with a powerful voice.

Ballyhoo's new track, "No Good," is the followup to the ban'ds self-released "Pineapple Grenade," available on iTunes.

Opening for Ballyhoo is reggae-rock band Passafire.

The show is $12 at the door. The show starts at 9 p.m.

SWINGNUTS JAZZ IN ANACORTES

Swingnuts Jazz plays high-spirited swing, upbeat Brazilian, and free-wheelin' jazz-gems from the 1920s to the 1950s in a free, all-ages event at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Anacortes Public Library, 1220 Tenth St.

ICE SKATING AT BELLINGHAM'S SPORTSPLEX

So, you're not in Sochi for the Winter Olympics, showing the world how to ice skate. But you can still give ice skating a go at Bellingham's Sportsplex, 1225 Civic Field Way.

All-ages public skate hours in February are 1 to 3:15 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays; all-ages community skate hours are 3 to 4:45 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. For people 16 years and older, adult skate hours are 8:15 to 10 a.m. Mondays to Fridays.

Prices for public skate are youth, $5, adults, $6. Community skate admission is $2.50 for youth and adults. Adults skate is $6. Kids 4 and under always skate free.

Skate and helmet rentals are each $2.50. Locker rentals are $1.50.
