DOWNTOWN BELLINGHAM PARTNERSHIP — COURTESY TO THE BELLINGHAM HERALD

Downtown Bellingham Partnership hosts a free Art Walk from 6-10 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. Several downtown shops and galleries feature a variety of exhibitions and demonstrations that showcase local talent.

At Allied Arts, 1418 Cornwall Ave., there's a collection of works from the recent "Nature in the Balance" exhibit at the Whatcom Museum. The Comics Place, 221 W. Holly St., features a collection of lamps, clocks and sculptures made from action figures. The Hair Art Studio offers "Taking it Back to the Streets" with spray-paint artist Pickles and Taj and music by DJ Kai and Tim Tripp.

Whatcom Museum's Lightcatcher galleries, 250 Flora St., will be open free from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, during the monthly Downtown Art Walk. It's the last chance to see the "Vanishing Ice" exhibit free before it closes March 16.

For a full list of participating merchants, artists and a map of the venues, call 360-527-8710 or go to downtownbham.wordpress.com and look for the Art Walk link.
