WWU men move up to No. 22, top West Region

Western Washington University moved up three spots to No. 22 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association/NCAA Division II Men's Indoor Top 25 released this week. The Viking men also are No. 1 in the West Region.

In all, WWU has had provisional national qualifiers in eight events. The Vikings also have broken five school records, two of them also being Great Northwest Athletic Conference bests.

The performances by Frank Catelli, Alex Donigian, Travis Milbrandt, Logan Myers and Brett Watson bettered or tied school records and Donigian and Catelli also surpassed GNAC records. Watson's high jump mark broke a WWU record that had stood for 22 years.

The Vikings' next compete on Feb. 14-15 at the UW Flo Track Classic and on Feb. 16 at the UW Indoor Open.
