Anacortes runs away from Mount Baker

Mount Baker's boys' basketball team let Anacortes jump out to a 22-1 lead and the Seahawks cruised to a 78-50 win on Monday, Feb. 3, at Anacortes High School. The Mountaineers were led by Reuben Murashov's 15 points.

"We had a better second half, but we had put ourselves in a huge hole," Mount Baker coach Rob Gray said in a phone interview.

Ty Johnson led the Seahawks with 21 points, including five 3-pointers.

Andrew Zender contributed three points and a team-high five rebounds for Mount Baker. Colton Ranson added 14 points in the game.

Mount Baker will try to bounce back at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Meridian.
