Bellingham boys' edge Nooksack Valley


The Bellingham boys' basketball team played catch-up all night and edged Nooksack Valley 69-66 in Northwest Conference action Monday, Feb. 3, at Bellingham High Schools.

"It was a battle," Bellingham coach Brad McKay said in a phone interview of the Red Raiders' sluggish start. "It was just kind of back and forth the rest of the game. It was a total gut-check for us."

Dante Check had 17 points for Bellingham, Ryan Fox added 14 points, Tristan Hurley had 11 points and Jakob Chamberlain had nine points and nine rebounds.

Seth Taron led Nooksack Valley with 20 points, Aaron Bosscher had 15, Connor Beard had 13 and Josh Gimmaka had six points and nine rebounds.
