Ferndale scores big, beats Oak harbor

Austin Honeycutt and Brady Shearer combined for 45 points and Ferndale's boys' basketball team topped Oak Harbor 81-74 on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Oak Harbor.

Shearer connected on five 3-pointers on his way to 22 points. John Weg also contributed with 14 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks.

"We talked about getting more defensive in the second half," Ferndale coach Monte Walton said in a phone interview. "We did a good job of sharing and moving the ball in the second."

Walton also highlighted Kier Munzanreder as a strong contributor in the second half, as he scored eight of his 10 in the second half after coming off the bench.
