Blaine girls bounce back with win over Friday Harbor

The Blaine girls' basketball team bounced back from a loss to Lynden on Friday with a 60-36 win over Friday Harbor on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Friday Harbor. The Borderites late-game offensive push for the win was led by Mandy Hayes' 19 points.

"We had a tough game last night - the girls were still really tired. It took us until about halftime before we got going," Blaine coach Ryan Pike said in a phone interview.

The Borderites scored 41 second-half points, compared to just 19 in the first half. Breanna Chau added eight points and a team-high 10 assists.

Blaine's next game is at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at home against Sedro-Woolley.
