Blaine can't top hot-shooting Friday Harbor

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDFebruary 1, 2014

Blaine's boys' basketball team couldn't get past Friday Harbor as the Borderites fell 63-56 on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Friday Harbor.

Friday Harbor made nine 3-pointers in the game, led by Otis Cooper-West's four.

"They shot the ball really well," Blaine coach Shaun Pile said in a phone interview. "They were definitely red hot."

Blaine was nearly as hot, as the Borderites made eight 3s. Sean Herrig led from beyond the arc with four.

"We rely on him to get us going," Pile said.

For Friday Harbor, it was CJ Woods leading the way with 21 points.

"He is a really strong kid and had this pull-up jumper," Pile said. "It's nice to see a midrange game; you just don't see that from high school kids."

Blaine faces Sedro-Woolley on Tuesday, Feb. 4, on the road.
