Breckenridge, Burlington-Edison too much for Bellingham

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 31, 2014

The Burlington-Edison girls' basketball team had the hot shooting hand and triumphed over Bellingham 75-49 on Friday, Jan. 31, at Bellingham.

"Burlington shot lights out," Bellingham coach Ed Wissing said in a phone interview. "That was a very good shooting display from a high school basketball team."

The Tigers were led by Edie Breckenridge's 22 points and the Red Raiders' Joelle Zamora made her best effort to keep up, tallying 14 points.

"Breckenridge did a lot of things very well for Burlington. She dictated the pace," Wissing said. "Overall, I thought (Bellingham's) team effort was very good. Even though things weren't going well, the girls stayed positive."

The Red Raiders (10-8, NWC 4-6) play Nooksack Valley on Tuesday, Feb. 4, on the road in its penultimate game of the regular season.
