Ferndale takes easy win over Mount Vernon


The Ferndale boys' wrestling team defeated Mount Vernon 45-20 on Wednesday, Jan. 29, in an exhibition match at Ferndale High School.

Mike Carpenter (113-pound class), Isaiah Heredia (120), Devon Bennett (126), Adaeus Wilson-Premo (132), Ben Broselle (145), Charnjit Mattu (170), Sam Cleary (182), Jack Bartrum (195) and Chris Hernandez (285) all recorded wins for the Golden Eagles.

"Some of our guys came out really attacking - really aggressive," Ferndale coach Caleb Schlack said in a phone interview. "Just came out attacking, which is what we wanted to do."
