Offensive hot streaks key for Lummi in win

Lummi's boys' basketball team shot the ball well, going 33 of 73 from the field, en route to a 74-54 win over Taholah on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at home. Trazil and Kavarez Lane led the Blackhawks, combining for 31 points.

"We played well in spurts. The second and fourth quarter we played well offensively, we're just trying to play well consistently," Lummi coach Jerome Toby said in a phone interview.

Willie Jones added a double-double with 12 points and a team-high 10 rebounds for Lummi. Austin Brockie had 10 and Charlie Wilson added 11 for the Blackhawks.

"Willie had a great game, his best rebounding game of the season," Toby said.

Lummi's next game is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, when the Blackhawks host Tulalip Heritage.
