Late free throws guide Golden Eagles to win

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 27, 2014

Ferndale's boys' basketball team spread the ball around for a balanced 63-57 Northwest Conference win over Squalicum on Monday, Jan. 27, at Squalicum High School. The Golden Eagles' attack was led by Daniel Riley's 16 points.

The game was tied at 41 going into the fourth quarter, but Ferndale was 10 for 12 from the free throw line in the final period and earned the victory.

Damek Mitchell led the Storm with 12 points.

Austin Honeycutt added 13 for Ferndale, and Kier Munzanreder had 10 more.

Ferndale plays next at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at home against Blaine. Squalicum looks for its next win at 7:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Mount Baker.
