Shooting woes continue for Lummi girls in loss

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 27, 2014

Without its two top scorers, Lummi's girls' basketball team couldn't get its offense started and took a 35-13 loss to Highland Christian. Kylee Tomma led the Blackhawks with five points.

"It was difficult to manufacture points. We put up shots, they just weren't falling," Lummi coach Randy Kaui said in a phone interview. "Kylee Tomma keeps improving every game."

Kaui added that leading scorer Treena Humphreys is out with an ankle injury. Sarah Burke added four points for Lummi, which shot just six for 36 from the field.

The Blackhawks' game against Taholah on Tuesday, Jan. 28, has been cancelled. Their next game is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at Highland Christian.
