Baseball league kicks off soon

Bellingham Youth Baseball will open play soon in the North Cascades Pony League. The league, for players 13 to 14 years old, will have teams in competitive and recreational play.

Registration is now open at www.bhamyouthbaseball.org, at Inside Pitch or at Prostock Athletic.

Coaches are also needed for the league. If interested in coaching, go to www.bhamyouthbaseball.org. A meeting will take place for interested coaches at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at Inside Pitch.

FOOTBALL CAMP TRYING TO GET GOING

A weekly NW Football Camps for youth age 6 to 13 is preparing to start in March at Cornwall Park.

VOLLEYBALL LEAGUE REGISTRATION OPEN

The Northwest Youth Volleyball League registration in Lynden is open grades 9 to 12 and includes a division for boys.

Primary registration closes Feb. 19 and the league starts March 5.

The season includes eight games plus playoffs and is at Cornerstone Christian School in Lynden.

BRANIGAN NAILS FIRST HOLE IN ONE

Emmett Branigan aced the 168 yard, No. 8 hole Bellingham Golf & Country Club.

Branigan used a 6-iron for his first ever hole in one.

CAMERON ACES HOLE AT NBGC

Pete Cameron had a hole in one on the 144 yard, No. 5 hole at North Bellingham Golf Course.

Cameron used an 8-iron and witnesses were Carl Lane, Norm Bonnickson and Chad Lehn.
