Police: Young man exposes himself to woman south of WWU

BELLINGHAM — Police are looking for a driver who exposed himself to a 21-year-old woman near 22nd Street, just south of Western Washington University.

The young man called the woman over to his new-looking dark blue Hyundai around 7:55 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, supposedly to ask for directions to Fred Meyer, said Bellingham Police Lt. Bob Vander Yacht. Then she saw the driver — described as 19 or 20 years old, white, skinny, with short blond hair — was masturbating.

Two people were in the car, but a description of the passenger wasn't in the police report. The woman didn't catch the car's license plate before it turned onto Douglas Avenue and drove off. She didn't notice any stickers or other distinctive marks on the car, Vander Yacht said.

If you have information about the case, call the Bellingham Police Department at 360-778-8800. After hours, call 911.
