Lyncs' defense halts Friday Harbor

The Lynden Christian's girls' basketball team defeated Friday Harbor 65-24 at Lynden Christian High School on Saturday, Jan. 25.

The Lyncs' defensive pressure limited the Wolverines to no more than seven points in any quarter, and they were able to force 21 Friday Harbor turnovers.

"We were able to force a lot of turnovers," LC coach Curt De Haan said in a phone interview.

Karley De Jager posted a game-high 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Kara Bajema added 14 points and a game-high five assists, while Lynden Christian as a whole moved the ball well, recording 21 assists against just four from the Wolverines.

"We were able to get the ball inside," said De Haan, adding that the Lyncs' ball movement got a lot of open looks.

Lynden Christian (12-2, Northwest Conference 7-0) travels to Sedro-Woolley for a 7:15 p.m. game on Monday, Jan. 27.
