Free development screening for young children Feb. 3 in Bellingham

BELLINGHAM - The Opportunity Council and Bellingham Public Schools are offering a free development screening clinic for children up to 5 years old. The clinic will take place at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 3, at St Luke's Community Health Education Center at 3333 Squalicum Parkway.

Early childhood specialists will screen the children using a questionnaire to evaluate communication, cognition, motor skills, and personal and social development, according to Bellingham Public Schools. They also will perform vision and hearing tests.

The Opportunity Council and Bellingham Public Schools will provide an opportunity to follow up on any child's specific developmental needs after the screening, should there be any.
