Honeycutt, Ivory lead Golden Eagles past Nooksack

Austin Honeycutt scored 18 and Malik Ivory came off the bench to score 12 points as the Ferndale boys' basketball team beat Nooksack Valley 65-50 on Friday, Jan. 24, at Ferndale.

"Malik Ivory deserves a lot of credit," coach Monte Walton said in a phone interview. "He came off the bench with a lot of energy."

The Golden Eagles stole the show with strong work on the boards. Ferndale tallied 39 rebounds compared to Nooksack's 29. Honeycutt led Ferndale with nine boards.

"The rebounding got us off to our fast break, where we executed well," Walton said.

Ferndale (6-9, NWC 4-4) plays Squalicum Monday, Jan. 27, on the road. Nooksack Valley (0-14, NWC 0-7) faces Seattle Academy Saturday, Jan. 25, on the road.
