Lummi boys bounce back to earn victory

The Lummi boys' basketball team had four players score in double figures, played tough defense and won the turnover battle en route to a 76-25 win Thursday, Jan. 23, at Providence Classical Christian in Lynnwood.

Austin Brockie had 22 points, Kavarez Lane had 13 points and four assists, Charlie Wilson added 11 points and Logan Toby had 10.

Lummi coach Jerome Toby said it was good to see his team bounce back.

"We had a tough loss Tuesday to Tulalip," Toby said in a phone interview, "and I'm proud of the way we regrouped tonight and played solid team basketball."

The Blackhawks won the turnover battle 17-5 and Willie Jones led the team with five rebounds.

Lummi next plays in an alumni game at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25.
