BELLINGHAM 237, SQUALICUM 224, ARCHBISHOP MURPHY 161
The Red Raiders boys' swimming team displayed its depth and got a big performance from Martin Sloley, as Bellingham scored 237 points and topped both Squalicum and defending state champion Archbishop Murphy during a tri-team dual Thursday, Jan. 23, at Arne Hanna Aquatic Center.
The Storm took second with 224 points and Archbishop finished third with 161 points despite winning six of the 12 events.
"It was three top-10 teams duking it out in one pool," Bellingham coach Jeff Anderson said. "It was a lot of fun."
Sloley twice competed in back-to-back races and won the 200 free in a time of 2 minutes, 0.05 seconds and won the 500 free in 5:19.46. Bellingham's team of Logan Dozal, Gabe Travers, Brisen Pearson and Sloley won the 200 medley relay in 1:50.42.
Bellingham built a 177-154 lead with four events to go and had just enough team depth to hold off Squalicum, which won the final two events.
