Nooksack fishing closure to be lifted Friday

THE BELLINGHAM HERALDJanuary 24, 2014

The sport fishing emergency closure for the Nooksack River has been lifted effective Friday, Jan. 24.

Portions of the river normally open under the permanent regulations will again be legal to fish for hatchery steelhead until they close for the season Friday, Jan. 31.

The lower North Fork Nooksack stays open until Saturday, Feb. 15.

The closure was rescinded after Kendall Creek Hatchery received sufficient numbers of adult hatchery steelhead to make its egg-take goal.
