BELLINGHAM - A California nurse wanted on suspicion of molesting a 98-year-old patient was being held in Whatcom County Jail after he was arrested in south Vancouver, B.C.

Russell Olvena Torralba was arrested in Canada last week after a tip from the U.S. Marshal's Office. He was transferred and booked into Whatcom County jail on Tuesday, Jan. 21. Torralba, a nurse in San Diego, is accused of molesting the woman, who earlier suffered a stroke, while caring for her.

Whatcom County Jail officials don't know when Torralba will be extradited to California, but he will make his first court appearance here on Thursday.
